10 suspected drug peddlers, users nabbed in Laguna

Police arrested 10 people in Laguna for possession and use of illegal drugs in two separate operations, the provincial police chief said on Friday.

Senior Superintendent Manolito Labador said the first operation resulted in the arrest of three people identified as Jomel Lanzanas, Arico Nervez, and Michael Perez.

The three were arrested in Barangay (village) Canlalay in Binan past 1 a.m. after they were allegedly caught in the act of using drugs.

Labador said confiscated from the suspects were methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and various illegal drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, seven more people were arrested by police in San Pablo City also for alleged illegal drugs use.

Labador identified the suspects as Florence Santillian, Roberto de Guzman, Prudencio Baldovino, Angelino Jacar, Roberto Salvador, Phenalyn Edroso, and Michael Fandino.

They were arrested at around 2 p.m. Thursday at Barangay San Juan also for alleged drug use and peddling.

Labador said authorities confiscated shabu from the suspects, including marked money used by police acting as undercover agents to purchase illegal drugs.

All of those arrested will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
