Police rescue abducted Indian national

Police on Thursday morning rescued an Indian national a day after he was abducted in San Pablo City.

Senior Superintendent Manolito Labador, Laguna provincial police director, Remmi Kumar Chonkria, 33, a resident of Barangay Yukos, Nagcarlan town was rescued from a farm in Barangay Concepcion, San Pablo City.

Labador said 4 gunmen abducted the victim, engaged in a money lending business, Wednesday morning while collecting payments from his clients in the same city.

He said the victim was on board his motorcycle when he was stopped and dragged by the kidnappers into a blue car.

The victim's family immediately reported the abduction to the police after the kidnappers contacted them and demanded a P20 million ransom money.

Labador said that while they were pursuing the case, they received information that the gunmen's blue vehicle has been spotted outside a shanty area near Azores Farm.

Police raided the kidnappers' suspected warehouse and rescued the victim. The suspects, however, were able to flee.

Labador said manhunt operations were ongoing for the arrest of a certain Aaron Borbe, a resident of Calauag town in Quezon province.

The suspect's identity was discovered through an identification card found in wallet that was recovered from the kidnappers' safehouse.
