Local candidate’s apartment in Laguna strafed, none was hurt

The house of a local candidate in Calamba City in Laguna province was strafed by unidentified attackers early morning Tuesday, a police officer said.

Senior Superintendent Manolito Labrador said that around 5 a.m., the apartment of Ronald Lapitan Cardema, 24, an independent candidate for board member of the city’s second district, was strafed by an unidentified attacker using an undetermined type of firearm.

Cardema’s apartment is located in Kinsville Subdivision, Barangay 3, Calamba City.

Labrador said that a certain Denis Lapitan y Herrero, 40, a resident of Barangay 3, recounted that he heard five gunshots near the apartment occupied by the victim.

As a result, the victim’s Toyota Lite Ace was hit at the rear portion three times.

Pieces of evidence recovered from the crime scene were deformed slugs of unknown caliber of firearm. No one was reported injured in the incident.
