A suspected member of a holdup gang targeting Indian businessmen in Southern Luzon was arrested over the weekend shortly after he and three of his cohorts attacked a 42-year-old Indian motorist in this town, police reported Friday.

The Cavite Police Provincial Information Office reported Friday the arrest of Dondy E. Olgado, 30, of Barangay Concepcion, San Pablo City, Laguna, and the ongoing hunt for his three cohorts.

Senior Police Officer 4 Zacarias S. Balleber, officer-on-case, said they are suspects in the holdup of Indian national Kumar Ashwani, 42, a temporary resident of Tulay-Bato, Biñan, Laguna
In his statement to police, Ashwani said he was driving his motorcycle (TJ-3154) in Barangay Uno, Carmona last Sunday when a green Nissan Sentra (USK-569) cut his path.

He said one of the suspects whipped him with a pistol across the head and then dragged him into their car where he was mulcted of P20,000 cash.

When a mob of bystanders approached them, the suspects dumped him on the road and drove off, leaving Olgado behind.
