Milo Marathon sa SPC sa October 10 na!

Organizers of the National MILO Marathon, now on its 34th year, is calling on runners not just to participate in its races beginning July but to do their part in helping the less fortunate as well.

For this year’s Milo Marathon, a portion of the registration fee of every participant will be allotted to its advocacy of providing underprivileged children with running shoes.

This advocacy stemmed from the Milo Marathon team’s observation that a good number of participants who joined previous races were students who did not wear shoes.

Some of the students even won the competition despite not having the proper running shoes.

The money collected from all the runners will be used to purchase running shoes that will be donated to different public schools in areas where the Milo Marathon will take place. The schools will be selected by the Department of Education.

Milo pointed out that they will not just be giving children running shoes for the marathon.

“We’re giving them something that they can wear to school, for sports and other activities. It’s definitely a step to help them reach their true potential and be the best that they can be,” MILO said on a statement. (
