NFA braces for "La Nina"

The National Food Authority (NFA-Laguna) is mounting preparations this early against the effects of the dreaded La Nina phenomenon which is expected to bring excessive rainfall and floods especially to the low-lying coastal areas of Laguna.

Relative to this, Provincial Manager Ramoncito H. Padilla continuously assesses the capability of the branch in terms of its rice inventory, manpower and logistics to be able to deliver the basic commodity in times of calamity. He said that "we can never outwit nature but can mitigate its effects."

Furthermore, Padilla assured that stocks are available at any given time and NFA Laguna Provincial Office and its seven warehouses in Calauan, Alaminos and San Pablo City shall be open to serve even on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, if necessary. He said that it is their social responsibility and commitment to carry this out without considering any discomfort on their part. (NFA-Laguna/PIA-Laguna)
