Feeding program launched in San Pablo City

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed recently between 30 mothers of schoolchildren in Don Enrique Bautista Elementary School in San Pablo City and partner agencies: Unilever Phils., Meadjohnson Phils. and Kabisig ng Kalahi for the feeding program dubbed "Makulay ang Buhay Feeding Program for Malnourished Children and Feeding Hope Milk Program."

Before the MOA signing, the mothers expressed pledge of support to boost the health of their children in the presence of San Pablo City Vice-Mayor Angie E. Yang, Social Welfare and Development Officer Grace Adap, Diane Sadona of Kabisig ng Lahi and Precy Escalante of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Calabarzon.

Under the program, children ages three to six years old will undergo the two modules: "Sagip Kalusugan," and "Lingap Kalusugan" for six months with the cooperation of the parents.

The program is hoped to be successful if every parents of the children will abide with its pledge of commitment to promote the health of their children.

Vice-Mayor Yang said, she and Mayor Vicente Amante's primary objective is to directly deliver the priority services of the local government to every constituent specifically services concerning the health of children in the city.

The feeding program is promoted cooperatively both by San Pablo City Mayor Amante, Vice-Mayor Yang and supported by City Admin Loreto Amante, DSWD, City Population Office, Office of Social Welfare and Development (OSWD), Sangguniang Barangay of San Francisco, DEBES, and the Parents Association of San Francisco.
