Bodies found in freezer in San Pablo City

Two women factory workers missing in San Pablo City have been found dead and stuffed in a chest freezer in the company warehouse, police said Wednesday.

The frozen corpses of Letecia Lupian and Vilma Bandilao were discovered by their employer, a Belgian man, after local officials asked him to help find the pair, said Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, the regional police chief.

The bodies of the two furniture factory workers, both in their twenties, have been sent for autopsies to determine the cause of death, said Cruz. No arrests have been made.

“We saw some blood (on the corpses) but we still can’t be sure where it came from because the bodies are still too hard,” Cruz told reporters.

The bodies were found at the factory warehouse in San Pablo, a city in Laguna about 90 minutes’ drive from Manila. Cruz said the two women slept there in beds provided by the factory owner.

His Filipino driver, the factory van, a computer and a large amount of money have all gone missing, but police said they had not determined whether he was a suspect.
He and the two women all went missing on Saturday, Cruz said.
